Adam Anderson

President & CEO

Adam is a passionate entrepreneur with a focus on creating new and exciting business opportunities using innovative technologies. He has a wealth of experience and expertise in the natural resource management and geomatics fields. He is a Registered Professional Forester with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick (2006), as well as a Technical Forest Diploma from the College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador (2002). This educational background, combined with decades of work experience has given Adam the technical expertise required for a wide variety of services including forest and environmental management planning, harvest operational planning, timber valuation, ecological land classification, digital forest inventories, environmental monitoring, research design and implementation, GIS-based analysis, design and deployment of remote data collection tools and collection/processing of data using Unmanned Aerial Systems.
 
Adam has supervised natural resource management operations in many locations across Canada (Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia and Northwest Territories) and is very experienced in managing large groups of people and working with the public, forest contractors, First Nations, company officials, government officials and tourism operators. He has spent a significant amount of time researching natural resource operations in other parts of the world and has always aimed to improve his skills as a resource manager based on his findings. Adam has a strong background in technical data collection and forest research and has extensive experience in preparing technical reports and presenting them to the public and other interested parties.
 
In 2007, Adam started Resource Innovations Inc., a professional forest management consulting firm that he has grown the throughout Canada since that time. The company provides forest and environmental management and planning services that promote healthy forest ecosystems, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. The company specializes in forest and environmental management, geomatics, digital analysis of the natural environment, and the development of custom tools and processes using geographic information systems.

Heather Wellman

Director of Business Operations

Heather Wellman

Heather Wellman is RI’s Director of Operations. She joined the team in February 2022 and brings a wide variety of experience. She has served as Executive Director of Corner Brook’s Downtown Business Association and Director of Human Resources for the Western Group of Companies. She holds a BA and an MA from Memorial University, a Certificate in Management from MacEwan University, and has completed the Human Resource Professional Program at the Gardiner Centre. Heather manages the financial and human resources operations of the business, helps oversee staff, and collaborates with Adam on strategy and planning.

Kayla brings a strong background in financial management and office operations to her role as Accounting and Administrative Coordinator. Since joining Resource Innovations in 2024, she has played a key role in supporting the Director of Operations and the rest of the team, ensuring the smooth, efficient running of daily business functions. With a passion for both accounting and business operations, Kayla takes pride in delivering accurate, reliable support across the organization.

Katherine Casey-Worthman

Forest Manager

Katherine Casey-Worthman, RPF

Katherine is a highly skilled and experienced forestry professional with a diverse background in forest management and ecology. She holds a Forest Resource Technician diploma from the College of North Atlantic and an undergraduate degree in Forest Ecology and Management from the University of Northern British Columbia.

Throughout her career, Katherine has gained hands-on experience in both conventional and cable logging operations across Newfoundland and Labrador and British Columbia, working as a technician to support the development of these projects. Her expertise extends to silviculture, where she has contributed to prescription plots in British Columbia and played a key role in the pre-planning and data collection for an adaptive silviculture program in northern BC. Her work involved gathering essential stand data on forest health, composition, woody debris transects, and overall stand ecology.

In addition to her work in silviculture, Katherine served as an ecologist with the National Forest Inventory program in the Northwest Territories for two years, further honing her skills in forest inventory and ecological assessment.

She is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF #120), recognized by the Canadian Institute of Forestry as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Professional Foresters Association. Katherine is also committed to professional development, having completed leadership training and holding an Avian Nest Sweeps and Monitoring certificate. Her dedication to forestry and ecological management continues to shape her approach to sustainable forest practices and conservation.

Jonathan Davis

GIS Manager

Jonathan Davis, FRT

Jonathan Davis completed his Forest Resource Technician program at the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) in and received the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF) Gold Medal Award in his graduating year. He began working with Resource Innovations as a forest technician in 2021. After two field seasons, and a few months assisting with GIS projects in the off-season, John returned to CNA to pursue his GIS Applications Specialist post diploma program the next spring, maintaining a perfect GPA throughout his studies.

After graduation, Resource Innovations happily welcomed him back in a new role as GIS Analyst, supporting cruise programs and turning field data into practical tools and insights for clients.

John is a creative problem solver and our resident “technology whisperer.” His experience as a forest technician allows him to create useful and practical mapping and data collection tools and make the flow of data seamless from field to office to client. His extensive experience in the collection, processing, and automation of field data, as well as his skills in developing and automating GIS tools and processes, make him perfectly suited as technical lead on our Research & Development projects.

As GIS Team Lead, John has taken a leadership role in project design and management and planning to ensure that all GIS projects are completed on schedule and within the high standard of Resource Innovations.

Tyler Turner

Tyler Turner is a dedicated Forest Technician with a proven ability to thrive in challenging environments. He consistently completes tasks with professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness. As a recent honors graduate of the Forest Resource Technician program at The College of The North Atlantic (CNA), Tyler is recognized for his outstanding commitment to the forestry industry. He has been awarded the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF) Gold Medal Award and the CNA President’s Medal. His dedication to education equips him with the skills to quickly learn new tasks and adapt to the ever-evolving forestry industry.
 
In May 2024, Tyler joined Resource Innovations, where he has made significant contributions in GPS mapping, timber cruising, harvesting block layout, and road layout. Known for his attention to detail, Tyler ensures that the data he collects in the field is precise, enabling it to be processed and delivered with accuracy. His ability to quickly learn new technologies also allows him to play a key role in major ArcGIS projects.
 
Tyler Turner’s combination of technical expertise, dedication to continuous learning, and commitment to the forestry industry makes him a invaluable asset to any project.
